Peace of Mind for Your Future

WE LEAD: Women Equipped—Leadership Education and Development. A program providing opportunities for all female students—every major, every class—to increase their leadership capacity.

WE LEAD includes academic, experiential, and service options. Through the WE LEAD initiative, female students transform into confident and competent leaders through activities centered around the ideas of mind, heart, soul, and strength that culminate into an academic leadership certificate that can be applied to the students’ transcript.

WE LEAD is comprised of three elements: Launch, Empower and Engage.

Get Involved

Whether you’re a high school girl, MNU student, Alumni, or friend, we would love your involvement with the WE LEAD initiative! Here are some of the ways you can be a part of this amazing program:

Launch | April 6, 2024

A Girls Only Preview Weekend

Launch is a unique college preview weekend just for high school girls, designed to affirm that they are enough, and that their individual talents and abilities make them valuable leaders. For we know that they are each ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’!

During this weekend visit you’ll meet other high school girls in a supportive setting, as MNU faculty and student leaders guide you through a variety of sessions and experiences focusing on the whole person: heart, soul, mind and strength.

Whether you’re already a leader in high school or you’re curious about increasing your unique leadership potential, this event is for you! At MNU we are intentional about preparing female graduates who are prepared to lead in any vocation or calling. We know that God does not intend for girls to live a life that is less than or held back. We affirm that you have gifts that should be shared with the world! You are worthy and valuable.

You’ll learn about opportunities for on-campus and community engagement if you become a future Pioneer.

EMPOWER

An academic leadership certificate program

As a part of this leadership certificate program you will participate in a series of activities specifically designed for leadership development, with the goal of cultivating a holistic perspective on womanhood, and encouraging you to reach your own unique leadership potential.

You may choose one of two paths for the leadership certificate program.

Certificate Path

Participant Path

  • Participate in orientation session and apply to the program.
  • Participate each semester in focused WE LEAD development activity.
Activities could include training and development sessions featuring content such as, Strengths Finder training, conflict resolution, body image, health & nutrition.
  • Participate in National Society of Leadership and Success activities.
  • Annual events: Launch, retreats and celebrations.
  • Participant Path is NOT reflected on your official transcript.

No matter the path you choose, the EMPOWER leadership certificate focuses on the whole person encompassing your Heart, Soul, Mind, and Strength:

Heart – The heart component is strengthened by developing healthy relationships. We honor ourselves as we honor our families, friends, and community. By building your community and connecting with role models or mentors we touch your heart.

Soul – Regardless of your personal religious beliefs, there is widespread acknowledgement of the human soul, the very center of our being. In developing the soul, we tap into your deeply felt moral and emotional nature. We nurture the soul component of your life, bringing strength and a sense of intrinsic worth.

Mind – The development of an excellent professional and technical skill set is the foundation for strong professional performance. Teaching you new skills, helping you gain new awareness and insights, and building your confidence develops your mind beyond just professional excellence helping in all areas of life.

Strength – There is a correlation between physical strength and emotional and mental strength. When women take care of themselves through fitness, nutrition and healthy lifestyles, they are better able to deal with every other area of their lives. Prioritizing self-care builds your strength.

Engage

Combining community outreach and alumni involvement into a formal mentoring program

Young women are often completely unaware of the challenges—both personal and professional—that they may face during their transition to professional life and throughout their career. Becoming aware of these challenges and having someone to discuss these issues with can help young women prepare and, ultimately, be more effective and increase satisfaction with their work and their life.

ENGAGE pairs college-aged women with experienced women, allowing for personal connections to flourish.

As an ENGAGE mentor you can share stories of your life and give hope to these students. Together we will build a safe space to discuss personal topics. By joining our community of women, we will help the next generation of women grow, provide support and encouragement, and a place for vulnerability and hard questions.
